JPG or PNG?

Choose JPG for photographic pages and for the smallest file size — it's the right default for sharing and posting. Choose PDF to PNG instead when the page is mostly text, tables, or line art and you need it razor-sharp, or when you need a transparent background. PNG is lossless, so it avoids the slight softening JPG compression can add around small text.

Turning the images back into a PDF

If you exported pages to edit or annotate them and now need a document again, JPG to PDF recombines images into a single PDF. To simply pull specific pages out of a PDF as PDFs (not images), use Split PDF.
