How the conversion works
ConvertBrio decodes your original file into raw pixels on its servers, then re-encodes those pixels using the target format's compression. Resolution, aspect ratio, and colour are carried across unchanged — the converter never resizes or recompresses beyond what the destination format requires.
Converting between two lossless formats (for example PNG to a lossless WEBP) preserves every pixel. Converting to a lossy format (JPG, or lossy WEBP/AVIF) applies compression once, at a sensible default quality where the difference is not visible at normal viewing size. If you need direct control over that trade-off, use the Compress Image tool instead, which exposes a quality slider and a target-file-size mode.
What happens to transparency and animation
Transparency is preserved when both the source and target formats support an alpha channel (PNG, WEBP, AVIF). Converting a transparent image to JPG fills the see-through areas with white, because JPG has no alpha channel. Animated GIFs convert to a single still frame unless you export to animated WEBP; there is no frame-by-frame animation editing in this tool.
Privacy and file limits
Every upload is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and processed automatically — no one reviews your files.
