How your files are handled
Files are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection and stored encrypted at rest while processing. Every conversion runs as an automated process — no one manually opens, reviews, or reads the contents of your file at any point, including for AI tools like the image enhancer, upscaler, and background remover, where uploads are used only to produce your output and never to train or improve any model. Uploaded and converted files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing via a daily cleanup job, whether or not you download the result — this isn't a manual or best-effort process, it runs on a schedule regardless of what happens on our end.
Reporting abuse or misuse
File-upload services can be misused — to process content someone doesn't have the rights to, or for other abuse. If you believe a file processed through ConvertBrio involves illegal content, copyright infringement, or another form of misuse, report it via our contact form or abuse@convertbrio.com. We don't display uploaded filenames or results publicly, and we review abuse reports directly rather than through an automated queue.
Tools like Unlock PDF are built only to remove owner-level restrictions from documents you already have the right to edit — see the Unlock PDF tool and our guide on PDF password restrictions for exactly what that does and doesn't cover. They're not built or intended to bypass protection on files you don't own or aren't authorized to modify.
Reporting a security issue
If you find a security vulnerability in ConvertBrio — anything from an access-control issue to a way to see another user's data — please report it to security@convertbrio.com or through the contact form before disclosing it publicly. As an independently operated project, response times won't match a large company's security team, but every report is read and taken seriously.
Corrections to guides and articles
Articles on the ConvertBrio blog are written to be accurate and practical, and are reviewed before publishing. If you spot a factual error, an outdated claim, or something that no longer matches how a tool actually behaves, let us know via the contact form — corrections are made directly in the article, not silently, and the page's stated date reflects when it was last substantively updated.
